Situated on the foothills of the Churya Range of Nepal in the district of Rupandehi, 300 km south west of Kathmandu, Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha (6eme century BC) is one of the greatest pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. The Buddha himself proclaimed Lumbini as one of the foremost pilgrimage sites among the famous Chatumahastana (the four great places of birth, enlightenment, sermon and mahaparinirvana).
We propose you a Lumbini-buddhist circuit tour which provides insight into the life of Buddha and the development of Buddhism. The tour goes through Tilaurakot, Gotihawa, Kudan, Niglihawa, Sagarhawa, Aurorakoti, Devdaha, Ramagram. These archaeological sites are scattered outside the Lumbini Garden. Some other circuits are possible around Lumbini, walk through the villages to interact with local culture and discover the diversity of Terai rural life.
