Pokhara is a lakeside tourist’s paradise with many facilities for travelers.
After we arrive at Pokhara via tourist bus from Kathmandu, we’ll get into a private vehicle and head to Kande (1,770m). Pursuing the trail across the verdant terrain, we’ll advance past the Australian Camp and continue our trek to the settlement of Pothana. Through the woodland of birch, rhododendron, and oak, we’ll make our way to Pitam Deurali (2,100m). En route, we’ll witness the initial glimpses of majestic snow-capped summits of Annapurna Mountain Range.
This segment of trekking trail is fairly easy and progresses across the seductive woodland comprising rhododendron, hemlock, birch, maple and oak for the most part. Accompanied by the damp soil, the smell of decayed leaves and woods, and the sounds of various insects such as Cicadas, we’ll move forward along the tranquil trail enjoying the delightful landscapes. Eventually, we’ll arrive at Forest Camp (2,520m).
Today, we’ll tie up our shoelaces and climb through the dense woodlands to Rest Camp. The trekking trail then continues to ascend across the area covered by trees that renders a safe haven to mosses, lichen, tree ferns and orchids. The lush greenery along the way is an oasis of serenity amidst the exhausting trekking venture. In between these closely set woods, there are natural apertures which bestow a window of opportunity to gaze at the spectacular scenery encompassing Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal and Annapurna mountains. Subsequently, we’ll make it to Mardi Himal Low Camp (3,150m)
We’ll now move up to the Middle Camp then proceed to Badal Danda (3,250m) where we can catch the sight of snowy mountains above and floating clouds below us. Keeping up with the trek, we’ll make an ascent beyond steep ridges and reach Mardi Himal High Camp (3,540m) at the end of the day.
The Mardi Himal high camp flaunts sublime vistas of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre in a clear day. Even during night time, these snow-clad mountains shine with moonlight and present a pleasing view. Early in the morning, we’ll forge ahead on the rugged as well as the precipitous trail to Mardi Himal Viewpoint (4,200m). From here, we can take pleasure of awe-inspiring Himalayan outlooks embracing snowy peaks of Mardi Himal (5,587m), Annapurna South (7,219m) and Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), Tent Peak (5,695m), and Machhapuchhre (6,993). Thereupon, we’ll stay with the steep and stone-strewn trail to set our foot in Mardi Himal Base Camp. With the pride and joy of being at the foothills of a lofty Himalayan peak in our hearts, we can take delight in surrounding snowscapes. After spending some time in the Base Camp, we’ll gradually return to Low Camp.
Pushing forward on the well-marked trail, we’ll trek down the woods and appear out on the region touched by modern civilization. We’ll proceed along the banks of Mardi Khola, leaving behind terraced farmlands and lovely meadows. At last, we’ll traverse a suspension bridge across the river and end up at the exquisite Sidding Village (1,700m).
