Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, the world’s most popular organized teahouse trekking in the Annapurna Region. This trek offers to experience the beautiful sub-tropical valleys, dense forests of rhododendron and icy waterfalls. From every angle during the trek you will enjoy a tantalizing glimpse of Himalayan peaks from Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m.), Mt. Machapurhre (Fish Tail) (6993m), Mt. Tukuche (6920m), Mt. Nilgiri ( 6940m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Annapurna South (7219m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6931m) to some other many smaller peaks during the trip. From Poon Hill (3210m). Also the view of the mesmerizing sunrise and Himalayan mountain range early in the morning. This entire trekking area is mainly dominated by the Gurungs and Magars both are ethnic people of Nepal. The main attraction of this trek is viewed by various species of birds, local culture and tradition, subtropical forest, Dense Rhododendron flower and many more.
Ghandruk village provides to insight the lifestyles of Gurung ethnic community of Nepal. Also to see the neat slate-roofed houses are clustered on the canyon wall amidst a complicated network of farming terraces, great views of the Himalayas that includes Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South. From Pokhara, 42 km drive and 5–6 hours in walking distance. Pothana is another popular village where you will encounter the same ethnic community as in the Ghandruk village. This village is situated on the ridge of the hill from where you can enjoy the spectacular view of Annapurna Himalayan range, Fishtail and green valley of Pokhara
The itinerary of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek can be made shorter without visiting Ghandruk village. Those who have longer holiday can hike through Ghandruk and end the trip in Pokhara. Despite the choices of routes you can enjoy the best panoramic Mountain View, experience Gurung culture, and lifestyle and make a circuit. This is truly a rewarding trek to every lover of nature.

After having Breakfast we start our Journey towards Pokhara. Pokhara is 200 K.M. from Kathmandu. It takes approximately 6-7 hours to reach Pokhara. We start at 7 AM in morning in a tourist bus. We can see wonderful view of nature on our way to Pokhara .Hotel will be located in the Lakeside so you can have a wonderful time with the beautiful Phewa Lake in the evening.
We start our journey to Tikhedunga after an hour drive to Naya Pul. For about 4 hours, it is quite easy to walk. All the way to Tikhedunga we follow a little stream. Time: 1 hour walking: 4 hours Difference: + 720 m( 3280 ft) in altitude.
We are now walking for about 7 hours through Ulleri and the villages of Nangethati. The rocky steep climb to Ulleri from Tikhedhunga begins our journey, a large Magar village 2070 m above sea level. We pass through the lovely forests of rhododendrons that would be colorful if our trek was in bloom in April and May. Overnight: Lodge Walking Time: 7-8 hours Elevation difference: + 1320 m
After early morning, we hike to Poon Hill (3210m) for the wonderful mountain scenery of Dhaulagiri( 8167m), Machhapuchhre (commonly called Fishtail(6998m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II( 7939m), Annapurna III(7555m), Annapurna IV(7525m), Himchuli(6441m), Annapurna South(7219m), Tukuche Peak(6920m), and Lamjung Himal(6986m). We then go back to Ghorepani. We continue our trek after breakfast and climb a small hill that leaves behind Poon Hill. The trail then goes down to Tadapani through dense, bird-filled moose forests. Difference in elevation: -2700m Overnight: Lodge Walking time: 4 to 5 hours
The densely-wooded rhododendron forest leads to one of Nepal’s largest gurung villages, Ghandruk (1940 m). It is a very interesting and fascinating village of Gurung, where you can see an old Gurung Culture Museum. Panoramic views of South Annapurna, Fishtail (Machhapuchhre) and Himchuli can be enjoyed. Quite easy and pleasant walk down to Naya pul and a short drive down to Pokhara. Time: 4 hours Driving Difference:-1120 m Difference in lift:-1120 m.
